0 percent interest housing loans
How about we have a lender of some sort, which provides housing loans to entrepreneurs only?
This post is a reaction to an article I saw a while ago on Pluggd.in, entitled “Housing Loans Kill Entrepreneurship”.
I am thinking of the following parameters:
- The lender could own the house, but the borrowers can posses it.
- The lender could provide a moratorium period of 5 / 8 / 10 years.
- At the end of the moratorium period, the borrowers will have to start paying.
- Only entrepreneurs who have put in a decent level of effort will be eligible.
- This is angel capital.
- Businesses that are bootstrapped but are bottle-necked because of the founder’s personal liabilities are eligible.
- The lender could ask for a small percentage of equity; non-voting shares only.
These would divest at the end of the moratorium period.
I could think of more parameters.
This could be a new flavor of venture capitalism, without the vulture-like attributes.
